Couptrain Morris with our visitors outside the Marie at Lassay les Chateaux. |

Much
organisation, planning, emails, phone-calls and beaucoup de vin
rouge went into our weekend of dance with visitors Tinners and
Cogs and Wheels from Devon. The day arrived, and so did they in their own coach all the way from Devon, a long journey which had begun at 4 am that morning. We had organised a meal at the pub in the village for that evening and so after settling them into the gites d’etape in the valley (a sort of hostel sleeping twenty four), we all returned to the pub to get things started. |

A fine evening was had with much music and song. |

Saturday began with dancing in Couptrain and the pub opened early for our guests. We then all piled on the bus and set of for Lassay les Chateaux, a small, pretty town surrounding an ancient fortified chateaux. More dancing and lunch, some took a tour of the chateaux, specially laid on for us and then a treat. |

The Mayor of Lassay invited us all into the Marie for a glass of cider and a presentation, which was delightful. |

More dancing in a fine drizzle that just would not desist, however we were not down hearted. On then, to Bagnole de l’Orne, an elegant spa town, where we processed daintly over a very slippery bridge and, of course, more dancing.

Back at the gite we had organised a barbeque and after that we retreated from the persistent drizzle and cold, into the gite for another splendid evening of music, dance and song. |
| Sunday morning we all had breakfast together in the local bar, Colin sang for Fan Fan and then…………more dancing, what else. |

We were very sad to see our friends go back, but all in all we had a wonderful weekend and hope to do it again sometime, somewhere. A small group of us went and packed away the barbeque, tidied the gite and then retreated to the pub to cook the remaining sausages over the fire and clear-up the salads. A fine end to a brilliant weekend. |
